Japonin(JOI) teachers include professionals who have specialized in linguistics or Japanese language education at university or graduate school, or who have completed the 420-hour Japanese Teacher Training Course.

Before starting lessons at Japonin(JOI), every teacher completes about two months of practical online training. They are ready to teach all levels, from beginner to advanced, as well as JLPT preparation and Business Japanese.

I am passionate about languages and have studied in Canada and Spain. I have taught at Japanese language schools in Chiba, Osaka, and Kyoto. Later, I worked as a Japanese language instructor at a company, and since 2013 I have been teaching online at Japonin(JOI). I teach Survival Japanese, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Business levels. In addition, I offer many private lessons and provide flexible lessons to meet your learning needs.

I am from Narita, a city known for its international connections, and have enjoyed interacting with people from various countries since childhood. I also gained experience in customer service at Narita Airport as a ground staff member, which allows me to help you with honorifics and business etiquette. I look forward to meeting you in class.

Since graduating from university, I have taught foreign students at Japanese language schools, covering levels from beginner to advanced and also helping design course schedules. At Japonin(JOI), I mainly teach beginner to lower-intermediate classes but also offer kanji, vocabulary, and JLPT preparation lessons. Private lessons are available on request.

I’m interested in Japanese history and World Heritage Sites and enjoy researching and visiting them whenever I can. In my classes, I often introduce Japanese sightseeing spots, history, and culture. After studying abroad in Beijing, I decided to become a Japanese teacher and have since enjoyed spending time with many students in engaging Japanese lessons.
Currently, I teach intermediate and higher levels. My goal is to help students expand their vocabulary and improve their sentence structure to express themselves in Japanese more widely and naturally, which in turn refines their conversational skills.

I previously worked for an airline, which allowed me to visit many countries and gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty of my own culture. This inspired me to engage in intercultural exchange activities.

While teaching at an overseas university, I organized a Japanese reading event where not only Japanese majors but also anime and manga enthusiasts, as well as people simply drawn to the beauty of the Japanese language, came to participate.

Through these experiences, I believe I can support learners who are interested in Japanese language and culture, or those who wish to work in customer service in Japan.

Are all Japonin(JOI) teachers professionals? What qualifications do they have?
Yes. Our teachers have majored in Japanese language education or linguistics at university/graduate school, or completed the 420-hour Japanese Teacher Training Course. Many are certified (e.g., Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test pass, Registered Japanese Language Teacher, etc.). Before starting lessons at Japonin(JOI), every teacher completes about two months of online training.
What levels and subjects do you teach?
We cover conversation and grammar from beginner to advanced levels, as well as JLPT preparation (N5–N1) and Business Japanese. Kanji courses are offered at N4 / N2 / N1 levels (no N3 Kanji class). You can select the teacher in charge from the level table above.
How can I choose a teacher?

Can beginners also join?
Yes. We recommend starting with Beginner 1 or Survival Japanese.
