物（もの）が話 （はな）せたら

物（もの）が声（こえ）を出（だ）せたらいいなと思（おも）ったことはありませんか？私（わたし）は子（こ）どもの頃（ころ）からよくそう思（おも）っていました。

こう思（おも）うのは、物（もの）を探（さが）しているときです。家（いえ）の鍵（かぎ）、自転車（じてんしゃ）の鍵（かぎ）、携帯電話（けいたいでんわ）、ヘアクリップ、昔（むかし）もらったプレゼント・・・　家（いえ）の中（なか）で、物（もの）をどこに置（お）いたか忘（わす）れてしまったり、あるはずの物（もの）が見（み）つからないことはよくあります。

そんなとき、もし「鍵（かぎ）！　どこにいるの？」と大（おお）きな声（こえ）で聞（き）いて、鍵（かぎ）が「ここだよ！　ジーンズの左（ひだり）ポケットの中（なか）だよ！」などと答（こた）えてくれたら、どんなに便利（べんり）でしょうか？　「洗濯機（せんたくき）の中（なか）だよー　早（はや）く助（たす）けて」と言（い）ってくれれば、時（とき）には物（もの）の命（いのち）を救（すく）えることもあるでしょう。

今（いま）までに家（いえ）の中（なか）で見（み）つからなくなった物（もの）たちが一斉（いっせい）に「ここだよー」と声（こえ）を出（だ）したら、面白（おもしろ）いでしょうね？　想像（そうぞう）もしなかった所（ところ）から昔（むかし）なくした物（もの）やすっかり忘（わす）れていた物（もの）が出（で）てくるかも しれません。

If things could talk

Have you ever imagined if things could talk? I have often imagined this since I was a child.

I think of this when I am looking for something. A house key, a bike key, a cell-phone, a hair clip, a gift I received a long time ago... We often forget where we put things. Many times we cannot find a thing that must be in the house.

When this happens, if you could ask "My key! Where are you?" loudly and it answered like "I am here! In the left pocket of your jeans!", how convenient it would be. If things could say "I am in the washing machine, help me immediately!", sometimes you would be able to save their lives.

If all the things you could not find in your house said "I am here!" in chorus, it would be funny, wouldn't it? Maybe you would find things you had lost long time ago or things you had totally forgotten about, from the places you'd never have imagined.
