Japonin’s Story Since 2006

In the mid-2000s, learning Japanese online was still unfamiliar to most people. For many learners, opportunities to study depended heavily on where they lived and what access they had. That is why we founded Japonin in 2006.

With few examples to follow, we built our online learning space step by step through trial and error. From the start, we were driven by a simple idea: to create a place where anyone, anywhere in the world, could learn Japanese with confidence.

Since 2006, we have provided online Japanese lessons taught by professional teachers. This commitment has never changed. It remains at the heart of Japonin.

Our Journey and Community

Japonin has always been supported by connections between people. We value the friendships that began online, and over the years, teachers and learners have met in person in different parts of Japan.
