A small discovery

During these last 10 years, I have been bothered by seasonal allergic symptoms. Twice a year, around the month of May and around November, I get symptoms identical to hay fever. Results from examinations showed that house dust and certain types of plants were the cause, but a detailed investigation to explain why the symptoms occurred twice a year would cost quite a lot of expense and take quite a lot of time. However, on around November 3rd last year after a period of continued rain, I suddenly felt as though the symptoms had gone away.

This led me to form a hypothesis that, 'the cause was dryness', and I decided to implement these three counter-measures against dryness.
①I opened the windows as much as possible to let in fresh air.
②I made it a rule to always switch on the humidifier at night.
③To prevent my nose and throat I slept lying on my stomach.

The result was that after this, I was able to welcome spring in without getting allergic symptoms. I am currently continuing the second and third counter-measures even today. When I come to think of it, I realized that for those of us living in Hokkaido, it wouldn't be a strange thing for health hazards caused by dryness to occur during the period between November, when we start to use the heating, and May when the snows go away.

If this was an average year, sneezing and runny nose symptoms should be starting to appear at the end of this month. Will I really be able to overcome it this time ? I myself, am really interested to find out.
