Monthly Subscription FAQ

 

The Monthly Subscriptions are a regular payment for the use of JOI's FlexLesson service.
We charge a monthly fee for the specified number of lessons per month.

Questions:

 infoWhere can I check my Subscription Renewal Date?
In your account, click on the「Change Your Subscription」 page link and you can see the Subscription Renewal Date at the top of the page, or click on the 「FlexLesson Reservation」 link, and you will see the Expiration date at the top of the next page.

 infoCan I change my subscription?

Yes, you can. You will need to log in to your account, cancel your current subscription and purchase a new subscription.

1. Log in to your account, and go to the 「Change Your Subscription」page.
2. Click the 「Cancel Subscription」 check box and add a note about the subscription you want to change.
3. Then click the 「Buy FlexLesson Subscriptions」 link at the top of the left side menu to purchase a new subscription plan.

If you purchase another subscription plan during the validity period of your current subscription plan, the new subscription plan will be applied immediately.
Any remaining tickets from the subscription plan before the change will be invalid, the ticket count will be reduced to zero, and become non-refundable, so please check your purchase carefully.

Therefore, if you wish to change your subscription plan, we recommend that you first use all of your current valid tickets.

 infoCan I pause my subscription for a while, when I am busy?

Yes, you can.
1. Log in to your account, and go to the 「Change Your Subscription」page.
2. Click the 「Pause Subscription」 check box, add a note (optional) and 「Send Email」.

The deadline for pausing a subscription is 5 days before the current renewal date (00:00 CET). If you pause after the deadline, you will be charged up to the price of your next subscription and the pause will take effect from that next subscription.

If you Pause your subscription, any remaining tickets at the time of suspension will remain valid until the end of the current 30 days Subscription period, but will not be carried over to the following 30 days Subscription period.

infoHow do restart my subscription after I paused it?
Yes. Please log in to your JOI reservation account and click on the [Change your Subscriptions] button and select [Restart Subscription] option to send an email to JOI Support staff.

infoHow do I cancel the subscription?
Please log into your account and click on the [Change your Subscriptions] button and select [Cancel Subscription] option to send an email to JOI Support staff.

The Pause and Cancellation Deadline to cancel the subscription is 5 days before your current Subscription Renewal Date (calculated at 00:00 Japan Time).

If you cancel your subscription after the Pause and Cancellation Deadline, you will be charged for the next subscription period and the cancellation will be enabled from the subsequent subscription period.

 If you cancel a subscription plan while you still have valid tickets from your current 30-day subscription plan, you will lose all of your remaining tickets. Your remaining tickets will be void and non-refundable.
So please try to cancel a subscription only after you have completed the lesson tickets in your account.

infoCan I get an extension or can my unused tickets be added to the next month?
Yes. If you have a busy month or difficulty attending a class and cannot use all your tickets, you can carry over the excess tickets to the next 1 month!
(Please note, tickets carry over for only one month). 

Please note that the subscription period is 30 days and tickets should always be used within a 30-day period.

So for example: If your subscription period is for the 30-day period from 3rd January - 2nd February, you can only reserve lessons within these days. (So you would not be able to make reservations for classes on the 3rd of February).
After the next subscription renewal date (in this case 2nd February) you will be able to book lessons for the 30 days between 3 Feb and 5 March.

 infoIs the subscription fee the same every month? And what currency is the fee charged in?
The fees at JOI are calculated and made in Japanese Yen.

The cost of the fees in other national currencies will depend on the currency rate at the time of exchange as set by the merchant vendor, your bank or your credit card.

So, for example, the cost of the fees in US Dollars will change depending on the Yen to Dollar rate.

infoAre there any days when lessons cannot be booked?
Every year, 11-15 August and 31 December-3 January are holidays for all teachers.
In addition, lessons may be canceled without notice due to illness or other circumstances of the tutors. (Terms and Conditions, Article 9, 2, 3).
