けん玉（だま）

　皆（みな）さん、けん玉（だま）をご存（ぞん）じですか？けん玉（だま）で遊（あそ）んだことはありますか？ 私（わたし）は、コロナで自宅（じたく）にいることが多（おお）くなり、自宅（じたく）でもできる趣味（しゅみ）としてけん玉（だま）をするようになりました。

　由来（ゆらい）を調（しら）べてみました。 なんと、16世紀（せいき）に、フランスの国王（こくおう）アンリ３世（せい）が、けん玉（だま）で遊（あそ）んでいたという記録（きろく）があるそうです。 日本（にほん）には、1777年（ねん）に国内唯一（こくないゆいいつ）の開港地（かいこうち）だった長崎（ながさき）から、けん玉（だま）が広（ひろ）まったと考（かんが）えられています。 現在（げんざい）、私（わたし）たちが使（つか）っているけん玉（だま）は、大正時代（たいしょうじだい）に生（う）まれたもので、「日月（にちげつ）ボール」と呼ばれていました。　　

　　　　　　　　

　その後（ご）、「競技用（きょうぎよう）のけん玉（だま）」が誕生（たんじょう）し「級（きゅう）・段位（だんい）認定（にんてい）」が行（おこな）われるようになりました。 今（いま）では、日本（にほん）はもちろん、世界（せかい）でも大会（たいかい）が開（ひら）かれるようになりました。

　　　　 　　　　　　　　

　けん玉（だま）の魅力（みりょく）は、たくさんあります。 まず、天然（てんねん）の自然木（しぜんぼく）を使用（しよう）していて、とても素朴（そぼく）な遊（あそ）びであること。 今（いま）のコロナの時代（じだい）に、自宅（じたく）で遊（あそ）べること。 ネットでいろいろな技（わざ）の練習（れんしゅう）の仕方（しかた）やコツなどが公開（こうかい）されているので、気軽（きがる）に参考（さんこう）にできること。などです。  

　多（おお）くの技（わざ）があり、難（むずか）しい技（わざ）を何度（なんど）も何度（なんど）も練習（れんしゅう）して、成功（せいこう）したときはとても感動（かんどう）します。　私（わたし）は今（いま）、難（むずか）しい技（わざ）の一（ひと）つ「飛行機（ひこうき）」に挑戦中（ちょうせんちゅう）です。 なんとかこの「飛行機（ひこうき）」を成功（せいこう）させて、日本（にほん）けん玉（だま）協会（きょうかい） から「三級（さんきゅう）」の認定（にんてい）を受（う）けたい と思（おも）っています。

　けん玉（だま）、面白（おもしろ）いですよ。 皆（みな）さんも、けん玉（だま）をやってみませんか？

Kendama

Do you know what a Kendama is? Have you ever played with a Kendama? In my case, since I was spending a lot more time at home due to the Coronavirus, I started to do Kendama as a hobby that I could do at home.

I looked into the origins. Surprisingly, in the 16th Century, there are records of the French king Henri the 3rd playing with Kendama.

It is thought that Kendama playing spread in Japan in 1777 from Nagasaki which was the only domestic port open. The type of Kendama we use today was created in the Taisho era and is known as a Nichi Getsu Ball.

And after that, the Kendama for competitions was made and certification for levels and ranks begun. Now they are able to hold competitions in Japan of course and also around the world.

There are many attractions to Kendama. The first is uses natural wood and is a very simple game to play. During this pandemic, it is a game you can play at home. There ways to practice various techniques and also tips and other things published on the Internet, so you can freely refer to them.

There are many skills, and with the difficult techniques you practice them over and over, and when you succeed in doing one, you get really moved. I am currently trying one of the difficult tricks, called the“airplane”. I want to succeed in doing the“airplane” and receive the certification for"3rd Grade" from the Japan Kendama Association.
