Hajimemashite! I am Sakude Emi. I live in Osaka, Japan's second largest city, with my daughter and my Brazilian husband. My hobbies are cooking, especially dishes from around the world. My husband and I often talk about how much misunderstanding there is in the world between individuals and between nations. It is these misunderstandings that block smooth human relations. I would like to do what I can to unravel these knots of misunderstanding. If there is anything you'd like to ask me—even if it's not connected to learning Japanese—please feel free. Let's do our best together. Ganbaro.
In my Beginner 2 class, conversation by the students is the centerpiece. Toward the end of each lesson, students practice conversation in real-life situations among themselves. By the end of the class, most of my students find they can use the new grammar forms and vocabulary introduced during class—new material they had no understanding of beforehand. My Discussion Dojo classroom is a place where students can freely express their opinions and original points of view. Whether it's laughing as a student recalls a funny experience, or pondering a serious issue brought up by another student, every session is a lively, engaging class. Please don't worry about making mistakes—the key in the Discussion Dojo is to speak up, speak your mind, and build your Japanese conversation skills. I try to offer a classroom where students can truly enjoy learning Japanese. Whether you're interested in Japan, you want to learn to speak Japanese, or you are looking for Japanese friends, I invite you to try online classes at JOI. I am looking forward to seeing you in the classroom.
