Hello. Hajimemashite. My name is Ikura Tokiko, and I live in Osaka. The word ikura is used in the familiar phrase, "Ikura desuka?" However, in a name, it is rare. My hobbies are travel, reading, swimming, snowboarding, and gourmet food trips—to name but a few. Also I really enjoy horseback riding, although I've only had five attempts at it. During the lessons, let's talk about Japan, the Japanese, your country, language learning tips, and food. Please feel free to ask anything. I'm really looking forward to talking to you in our online Japanese classroom!
In my lessons we take up a one grammar point and concentrate on getting accustomed to using it. Here is a typical lesson plan:
Sometimes, I add listening exercises and Kanji practices to the lesson plans. I conduct the lessons in Japanese, but the lesson text slides have the Romaji reading underneath the Japanese lettering and also include English translations. So even if it's your first time in a Japanese class, you can rest assured that you won't get lost. My greatest pleasures are meeting everyone online and witnessing everyone's steady improvement in Japanese. It is intriguing that we are all in different places around the world, yet we transcend time differences and come together for each lesson. JOI provides an environment that is so convenient, it makes it easy to continue studying—anytime, anywhere, and at your pace. And if you get busy, take a break for a while and pick up lessons again when you have time.
