Here's what you need to learn Japanese online at JOI:

A headset with a good microphone OR headphones and a separate microphone

	A quality microphone is essential, because the classroom allows you and your teacher to talk and listen at the same time. PC speakers cannot be used.
	A headset with a built-in microphone usually gives the best voice quality, but your web cam mic (if any) or your PC's built-in mic is OK, too.

Web cam (optional)

Broadband Internet connection, such as DSL or cable. (Dial-up connections are not supported.) More info
